Description

The Maritime Museum is a unique collection of marine animals, colorful corals, shells, souvenirs, and fossils—a collection comprising approximately 5,000 exhibits. Visitors will be amazed by a giant lobster, a Japanese sea urchin, a dried piranha, and shells used as currency on the islands of Indonesia. When you visit the museum, you’ll not only hear breathtaking stories about dangerous sea voyages, poisonous shells, and medicinal cuttlefish powder, but you’ll also see a multitude of unusual and rarely seen inhabitants of the ocean depths. And if you’re really missing the sea, you’ll definitely hear it murmuring through the shells. On Saturdays and Sundays, only groups that have registered in advance are admitted. Vida Žilinskienė’s “Maritime Museum” is part of the Salakas Educational Trail. Prices: Exhibition tour services: in Lithuanian, per person – 1.80 € in English, per person – 2.50 €
