In one of the rooms of the newly renovated passageway, a dream brought to life by creative women has opened its doors: an art gallery and studio. Irma Gineikienė, the idea’s architect and inspiration, spent a couple of years bringing together creative women—both professional artists and amateurs—united by a love of beauty, ethnic cultural traditions, sacred art, and a desire to create and share their skills and talents with others. Currently, the “Roses and Lilies” gallery is exhibiting and selling works created during the summer plein air event, as well as prints on canvas, unique handbags, baskets, and scented lavender pillows. The gallery now features Jurga Navickienė’s interior dolls and Virginija Knowles’s “menagerie”—unique animals sewn from wool—originally from Zarasai, Kristina Ballouard’s mosaics, Ramunė Sladkevičiūtė-Dainienė’s paintings and ceramics, as well as postcards, books, herbal teas, and more by Gintarė Laurikėnienė and Vilija Visockienė.
