1830 - 1831 the uprising in the Kingdom of Poland and Lithuania was a struggle for freedom by peoples enslaved by tsarism. Among the participants of the uprising, the Lithuanian Joan of Arc - countess Emilija Pliaterytė became famous for her courage and determination. in 1831 March 29 together with his adjutant Marija Prušinskaite and Cezar Pliaterius, he announced the beginning of the uprising in the Dusetos church, raised the flag and gathered a squad consisting of 280 riflemen, 60 horsemen and several hundred men armed with scythes, mostly peasants. She herself fought in the first ranks of the rebels. Word about E. Pliaterytė's courage spread throughout Lithuania. Grafaitė was appointed the captain of one of the rebel regiments. However, after falling ill, she died and was buried under a foreign name in Kapčiamiestis. Her grave is commemorated by a monument with the words: "I gave my soul to God, and my life to the Motherland". in 1831 Countess Emilija Pliaterytė, a participant in the uprising, is the brave Joan of Arc of Lithuania, considered a national hero in Poland and Belarus. in 2006 November 23 commemorating the 200th anniversary of E. Pliaterytė's birth in Didžiadvari village, Dusetų sen., Zarasu district. a memorial stone was unveiled.
