Memorial Museum of the Poet Antanas Vienažindys was established in Gipėnai village (Antazavė parish) in 1972. According to the various facts of Vienažindys family, A. Vienažindys supposedly spent his childhood here. Homestead in Gipėnai village remained almost unchanged. Long, ancient living house with a spacious and for this region characteristic porch was covered with straw in the past. It is beautiful at poet's birthplace even now and it is a joyful experience to visit homestead, which is very well taken care of by poet’s relatives who live here. Part of this spacious home is sacred to the memory of the poet. The Museum is exhibiting authentic furniture, facsimiles of manuscripts of the poet, the selections of his creative works and etc.

The museum is under the auspices of the poet's relative O. Juodelienė. The museum was founded by honorary ethnographer, Doctor of Technical Sciences, cultural figure Algimantas Žilėnas (1930 -1993).
